Xinyi Liu is a 3D artist based in Los Angeles. She borned in Anhui, China,  received her B.F.A from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, 2025. During her four years of undergraduate study, she explored a wide range of artistic fields, including painting and drawing, color theory, photography, film, and game design. However, her deepest passion and strongest skill lie in 3D animation. She has served as a teaching assistant for several 3D courses, where guiding other students not only strengthened her technical expertise but also enriched her problem-solving abilities.

Xinyi expresses her artistic vision through the interplay of color and cinematography, often combining music with visuals to explore the connection between emotion and technology. She is especially fascinated by jellyfish as a theme—having visited multiple aquariums to study their movements, she has created two 3D animations inspired by them. To her, jellyfish embody a sense of tranquility and represent a meditative state of “emptiness,” one that allows for deeper awareness of the surrounding world. Her exploration of jellyfish continues in parallel with her ongoing inquiry into the inner, spiritual realm.

Music also plays an important role in her creative process. Rather than composing music herself, she prefers to translate melodies into visual form through 3D animation, synchronizing each note with images to reveal the emotions beneath the sound. She believes that when animation is paired with the right music, it unlocks richer layers of visual expression and inspiration.
